A meaningful tour to historically significant locations where the evolvement of the Hasidic movement in Ukraine took place. The journey starts in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Next, we travel west.

This area is known by many Hasidic movements that originated and advanced in these areas.

This tour was created exclusively by JewRoots agency. We aim to show the travelers the amazing towns and cities that shaped East-European Jewish culture and ideology as we know it.

 

Among the notable destinations: the tomb of Rabbi Mordechai Twersky, Maggid of Chernobyl in the town of Igantovka,  Zhytomyr (where Chaim Nachman Bialik was born and raised), Berdychiv (the city of Rabbi Levi Yitzhak), Sharhorod, Medzhybizh, Kam’yanets’-Podil’s’kyi, Chernivtsi (where we’ll see the palace of  Israel Ruzhin and many other unique sites), Kuty, Kosiv, Kolomyya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Buchach, Pidhaitsi, Premishlan, Lviv, Zhovkva, Brody.
